A Senior Special Adviser to Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, Hon. Benjamin Jock, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing prolonged marginalisation, disregard for loyal members, and the party’s failure to deliver on its campaign promises.

Jock, who hails from Jaba Local Government Area in Southern Kaduna, formally announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the APC Chairman of Nok Ward in Jaba LGA. His decision comes barely a week after the former Executive Chairman of Kagarko LGA, Hon. Nasara Rabo, also exited the party.

In the letter, obtained by PUNCH Online on Thursday, Jock expressed deep frustration over what he described as the abandonment of dedicated party loyalists, particularly those who worked at the grassroots to secure victory for the APC.

“Regrettably, I have come to realize that my efforts and contributions to the party at the grassroots level have been grossly overlooked. Despite my unwavering loyalty and dedication, I have been deliberately sidelined by the party leadership at both the local government and state levels,” the letter read in part.

Jock, who served as Campaign Secretary and later Deputy Secretary during the APC’s 2023 primaries and general elections in Kaduna State, described his resignation as a difficult but necessary decision following what he called the party’s “consistent neglect” of committed members.

As Governor Sani’s Senior Special Adviser on Projects, Jock also criticised the APC-led administration in the state, accusing it of lacking the vision to address the fundamental needs of the people.

“As someone who believes in the ideals of our party, it pains me to see our government’s inability to fulfil its promises, leading to widespread disillusionment and a loss of trust among the electorate,” he wrote.

He further alleged that the APC no longer values loyalty, stressing that those who sacrificed their time and resources to secure electoral success were being ignored and humiliated.

“What has finally brought me to this point is the party’s seeming disregard for loyal members who have stood by it through thick and thin. The lack of reward or recognition for those who have tirelessly worked to ensure the party’s success at the polls is appalling,” he added.

Although Jock did not disclose his next political destination, he hinted that his departure should serve as a wake-up call for the APC to reflect on its internal issues and how it treats its grassroots loyalists.

Efforts to get a response from the APC leadership in Kaduna State were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
