The Solution Youth-Preneurs Support Group (SYPSG), a network of beneficiaries of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s 1Youth2Skills programme, has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for heeding their call and extending the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in Anambra State, which initially ended on Thursday, July 17.

Recall that SYPSG had, days ago, passionately appealed to INEC to extend the CVR window in the state, following their comprehensive eight-day monitoring tour across the 21 local government areas of the state. The group had observed widespread enthusiasm among residents to register and vote, alongside infrastructural challenges that hindered many from completing their registration, including shortage of registration machine, network problems, among others.

The SYPSG, on Friday, while reacting to the approval of their request and the 3-day extension by INEC, also announced that it has resumed its statewide monitoring and support activities to further complement the registration process. The group, in a renewed mobilization effort, has already redeployed its monitoring teams to various local governments including Onitsha North, Idemili North, and others, where they continue to sensitize residents and provide technical assistance on voter registration processes.

The group expressed gratitude to INEC for not only considering their appeal but also responding in good time, which they described as a demonstration of the Commission’s commitment to deepening democracy in Anambra and Nigeria at large. The SYPSG further hailed the extension as a clear indication that collective civic advocacy can yield fruitful results in the country’s electoral process.

They emphasized that the extension has rekindled hope among Anambra residents, especially the youths, who now see the electoral process as an important civic duty rather than an obligation. The group also noted that this development has further stimulated interest and participation in the forthcoming November 8, 2025, governorship election in the state.

While thanking INEC and its officials in Anambra for granting their request, the group urged all eligible persons in Anambra who are yet to register to utilize this extension period to go get their PVCs. It also reiterated its readiness to sustain their grassroots sensitization, technical guidance, and mobilization to ensure that more eligible residents seize the window to register, transfer, or correct their voter information ahead of the poll.

SYPSG further reminded the public that the INEC online portal remains active, urging eligible voters who have minor problems such as correction or transfers of voters card and such cases to utilize the self-service platform at https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/ before the new deadline elapses.

The group described the extension of the CVR exercise as a victory for participatory democracy and indicative of the Solution Government’s efforts in reawakening civic consciousness among Ndi Anambra. They called on all residents to take advantage of the extension to secure their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), emphasizing that the success of the November 8 election is a collective responsibility.

According to the group, their continued presence in the field will ensure that no eligible voter is left behind in the process, while also reinforcing the importance of voter education and participation. They expressed optimism that, with the combined efforts of the government, civil society groups, and citizens, Anambra would record one of the highest voter turnout rates in the upcoming election, being a state under the Solution Government.
