In a bold move reflecting his dedication to youth empowerment and leadership, Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Vice President (North East) under the auspices of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).
The press declaration, issued on Monday in Bauchi, highlighted Ibrahim’s longstanding commitment to championing youth voices, fighting injustice, and fostering grassroots development across the region. A former President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG), Ibrahim emphasized his track record of activism, mobilization, and public engagement as key assets for his aspiration.
“I present myself for this service not for recognition,” Ibrahim stated, “but because I believe that together, we can redefine leadership and rewrite the narrative for young people across our region.”
Calling on progressive youth stakeholders and advocates from the six states of the North East, the aspirant pledged to advance a transformative NYCN agenda centered on rural development, inclusivity, and measurable impact.
If elected, Ibrahim promises to prioritize youth-led initiatives, bridge institutional gaps, and strengthen community participation throughout the zone. His declaration comes amid growing calls for dynamic representation and visionary leadership within Nigeria’s youth structures.
The race for the NYCN Vice Presidency (North East) is expected to be keenly contested, and Ibrahim’s entry has already begun to stir conversations among youth organizations and political observers.
For now, the spotlight shines on the spirited grassroots mobilizer as he seeks partnership, prayers, and support from the youth across Bauchi, Borno, Adamawa, Gombe, Yobe, and Taraba states.
