Civil Society Organizations, CSOs have continued to react to the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, saying that he did better as a military head of state than as an elected civilian President.
Among those so far reacted were the Campaign for Democracy, CD, Southeast zone and Congress of Civil Societies, CCS, Anambra state chapter.
In his reaction, Southeast Zonal Chairman of CD, Dede Uzor A. Uzor said Buhari’s death should serve as a lesson to both the present and future leaders of Nigeria.
Uzor who noted that though it is against nature to laugh at a dead man, Buhari’s military regime was far better than his civilian regime.
Blaming Buhari for failing to release Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and for promoting ethnic bigotry in the country during his regime as president of Nigeria, Uzor insisted that Buhari made a lot of mistakes which created retrogression for the country.
In his own reaction, Chairman of Congress of Civil Societies, Comrade Damian Ogudike blamed Buhari for promoting insecurity in the country through his proposed establishment of Ruga settlement and National Livestock programme aimed at favouring his Fulani herdsmen kinsmen.
Ogudike who recalled that Buhari abhorred corruption during his military regime and promoted it during his elected tenure, said he ought to have been impeached by the national assembly if Nigeria had been strongly rooted in democracy.
