The recent article by Emeka Ozumba titled “Why Ukachukwu Stands No Chance as Governor” reads more like a panicked opinion piece than a measured political commentary. It attempts, unsuccessfully, to dismiss Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu’s candidacy with recycled rhetoric, half-truths, and “political gossip” — a strategy that underscores the growing unease within the incumbent’s camp rather than any real threat to Ukachukwu’s prospects.
Ordinarily, I wouldn’t bother responding to Emeka Ozumba’s article I mean, everyone needs a hobby, even if it’s appointing yourself as the political referee of Anambra elections from the comfort of your keyboard.
Let’s not forget, Mr. Ozumba’s last official gig was as media aide to the former First Lady of Anambra State, Mrs. Ebele Obiano. His job was simple: manage her public image. But somehow, he managed to turn what should have been a PR walk in the park into a full-blown disaster. By the time he was done, Mrs. Obiano had become one of the most unpopular First Ladies the state had seen thanks, in no small part, to Ozumba’s “expertise”. The same “expertise” deployed in penning the Ukachukwu article.
And who could forget his grand finale? The legendary March 17, 2023 Soludo inauguration day fiasco between Mrs Obiano and Mrs Bianca Ojukwu that ended with a public slap a moment that will live forever in Anambra’s political blooper reel. That PR meltdown alone should have earned Mr Emeka Ozumba a lifetime achievement award in mismanagement.
Now, in what seems like a last ditch audition for another appointment, Mr. Ozumba has decided to resurface, dishing out political predictions like a fortune teller with a cracked crystal ball. Sadly for him, throwing shade doesn’t count as a strategy or a comeback.
Prince Ukachukwu has chosen to run issues based campaign, not insults; on vision, not drama. While some continue to dwell on personalities, unverified endorsements, and political distractions, Ukachukwu is engaging Ndi Anambra on what truly matters: economic development, infrastructure renewal, Infrastructure expansion, youth empowerment, Healthcare development, Education development, investment opportunities, job creation etc. These are the pillars of his message not rehearsed attacks.
Let’s be clear Emeka Ozumba and co: Ukachukwu is not in this race to trade insults or stage political drama. He is offering Ndi Anambra a fresh path grounded in results, backed by a solid private-sector track record and experience in public Private Partnership. What his critics call “low profile,” Ndi Anambra understand as focused grassroots engagement. While others celebrate ribbon-cutting ceremonies, Ukachukwu is talking to real people in real communities, listening, and co-creating sustainable solutions.
It is unfortunate that the article tries to substitute political reality with personal bias, brushing aside the glaring fact that Anambra, despite having immense potential, remains far from its best under the current administration. Ribbon cuttings are welcome, but they are not enough. Ndi Anambra deserve a governor who will harness the state’s full economic capacity, attract investment, empower SMEs, and create jobs for our youth not just photo ops.
For the record, Ukachukwu has not and will not engage in smear campaigns or lies. Any attempt to tie him to such is pure deflection. His campaign is focused on real issues, not endorsements, fake or real. As for running mate Senator Uche Ekwunife, she brings formidable experience and balance to the ticket. The synergy they offer is grounded in complementary strength, not ambition or guesswork.
While Soludo hold tightly to incumbency and inherited political structures, Ukachukwu is building a movement that is people driven, issue based, and future focused. And that is exactly what Ndi Anambra are beginning to respond to.
Ozumba’s article may wish away Ukachukwu’s chances, but Ndi Anambra know better. In the end, it is not press statements or elite commentary that will decide November 8, 2025, it is the will of the people. And Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu is speaking directly to that with clarity, humility, and purpose.
This campaign is not about who shouts loudest, it’s about who delivers best.
Ukachukwu has chances of winning and with his track record in his private capacity, he will definitely do better than Soludo who did absolutely nothing for Anambarians both in his personal capacity and as CBÑ governor.
