It was the famous famous writer James Michina who axiomatically stated that a day is called dark not because the light refuses to shine but because people refuses to see it.
Basing on the frontal assault against the personality of Shamsuddeen Bala Muhammad and his family members, it is safe to say that Omoleye Sowere is on a mission not only to dent the unblemished reputation of Shamsuddeen Bala Muhammad but to indirectly use activism to intervene in Bauchi politics, working as proxy activist who is being controlled behind the scene.
For this purpose, Shamsuddeen has, all of a sudden, found himself cocooned in a shell of political offensive campaign, trying to stave off defamatory assaults from people who hide under the cloak of fighting against free speech only to stealthily advance a different political agenda.
For people who don’t know Engineer Shamsuddeen Bala Muhammad, the young politician isn’t new to campaign of calumny, innuendo and polemics. He defeated the EFCC in court, he survived various conspiracies against him and his family members, and he will definitely live to see off Sowore and his handlers who control him from behind the scene.
The people of Bauchi are not fools and cannot be fooled. They are too sophisticated to be taken for a ride by the likes of Sowore. They know who Shamsuddeen Bala Muhammad is, and one thing I am sure about is Shamsuddeen Bala Muhammad does not give in to mischief. All the slandering garbages being thrown against him will ricochet as it would not have any significant impacts on his image and political standing in Bauchi.
As for Dr Abubakar Ahmad, it is unfortunate that he has been used and left in the lurch to suffer the consequences of his folly. Dr Abubakar Ahmad is a teacher-turned political psychopath whose voyeuristic interest in Shamsuddeen Bala Muhammad’s is so intense that he has resorted to publishing private videos of his wife which is ethically and legally unbecoming of him as a school teacher. You cannot divulge a person’s private information and simply expect the victim of your mischief not to fight back. This is not free speech; it is a brazen invasion of privacy punishable by law. Shamsuddeen has been subjected to so many campaigns of calumny that I keep wondering how this unassuming strategic man manages to fight off the venom of their negativities without exerting too much pressure on his mental health.
Sowore is not fighting for the release of Dr Abubakar Ahmad in any logical sense. He isn’t fighting for good governance in Bauchi because his handlers have retreated to Abuja, looking for weak points to strike and extract concession and regain political relevance they have lost in Bauchi.
Engineer Shamsuddeen Bala is an indefatigable fighter who never rests on his oar until he succeeds. Bauchi people are not politically novices. They know the types of leaders who deserve to represent them; who know their interests and how to protect them. They see Shamsuddeen as a real son of Bauchi State who deserves their respect and solidarity. They want anyway. Sowore and ilk can rave and rant, but they can’t change the reality on the ground that Shamsuddeen is still a force to reckon with in the grand scheme of things.
He is here to represent his people. Sowore and his imbecilic manikins will continue to throw any card at their disposal to try and bring down Shamsuddeen Bala, but they will lose the fight woefully.
