Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu (Ikukuoma Ndigbo), the gubernatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC in Anambra state has stated that his specific mission to the Government House is to produce the indices that will make the state work perfectly in all the sectors.

He regretted that his dream to retire in Onitsha when he was a student of the prestigious Dennis Memorial Grammar School, DMGS, Onitsha in the 80s has long been shattered due to the absence of the indices that will make Anambra state and Onitsha in particular work.

Ukachukwu who spoke during his home coming visit to the staff, students and Old Boys Association of DMGS, his Alma Mater, said it is a pity Anambra state is no longer as attractive as it used to be during those his old school days when he nursed the dream of retiring in Onitsha or any other place in Anambra state because it is no longer safe and secured.

According to Prince Ukachukwu, “my emergence as APC guber candidate in Anambra state is not a victory for me alone but for all of us as Dengramites – DMGS Old Boys Association Worldwide, DOBA Ww and since my dream of retiring to Onitsha has been shattered by successive governments in the state, I am in the race to provide the indices that will make this state work so that prominent Indigenes of this state who wish to retire here can do so comfortably”.

Recalling the experiences of his secondary school days, Ukachukwu commended his school mates and the Old Boys for coming out enmasse to receive him and solicited for their support stating emphatically that ‘ It is the Turn of a Dengramite to be Governor of Anambra State”.

Ukachukwu said that DMGS has produced many great names, talented, intelligent and resourceful men who have carved a niche for themselves in various fields of human endeavour, adding that as a Dengramite, he would bring meaningful development in various sectors of the state to make Anambra regain its status as the light of the nation indeed not only as a nomenclature.

“My alma mater is excited because they know that we can fix Anambra. DMGS is a place where people of substance, people of great immense value graduated from. Anyone that passed through DMGS can solve any problem”.

“My people are happy because this time around we are the one that is taking Anambra State to the center where every other thing can be reconnected”.

“Nigeria is not running a state economy but Federal economy. When security from the Federal is deployed to a state government but you can not make use of them it is an issue. Our President has moved enough security and money to Anambra State but the government of Anambra State is not managing them well”.

“Now, Anambra State is going to be a part and parcel of the Federal Republic under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We will manage the resources from up down to us very well and the one we generate here will be properly managed and in the next few months Anambra will be where it is supposed to be as the Light of the nation.

“We are celebrating because everyone is happy because they know that Anambra State will be far better in the hands of APC, in the hands of a Dengramite and in my own hands”.

“Security is paramount in a state, providing enablers is very important to make business and industries to work. If you start businesses without those enablers they will die.It is like planting a crop in a concrete floor, you have already decided that the plant will die. You need to till the soil, manure it before planting to ensure a bumper harvest”.

“Even when there is security you should also empower people, carry people along, remove hunger through stomach infrastructure. Some kidnappers are not into crime because they want to but because they chose wrongly out of frustration”.

“We are good traders in Anambra but we can grow into having industries that produce what we sell”.

“When we were growing up at DMGS we had companies like GMO, etc but now many factories, including mine are under lock and key, glorified warehouses, we need to rise up and fix Anambra once again,” said Ukachukwu.

Earlier in their separate speeches the National President of DOBA Ww, Dr Sunny Chuba Nwachukwu and the DMGS Principal, Ven Chigozie Anieto wished Prince Ukachukwu a resounding success in the upcoming November 8, 2025 Guber election at the polls with a hitch free period of electioneering campaigns.

“The prayer, support and backing of this global alumni body is for you to emerge victorious, said the duo who requested that Prince Ukachukwu should impact Dengramites as they mark a centenary year by sponsoring the upcoming July 26 and 27, 2025 DOBA Convention.

They therefore urged him to give sacrificially towards any of the Infrastructural projects needed in his alma mater to enhance the learning environment, secure the future and ensure that DMGS continues to be a beacon of academic and moral excellence for generations to come.
