Hajj 2025: last batch of 398 Bauchi pilgrims returns home successfully

The last batch of 398 pilgrims from Bauchi State on Tuesday including the Amirul Hajj team led by the Executive Secretary Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board Imam Abdurrahman Idris and other officials returned home after spending 38 days in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The contingent arrived Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi aboard MaxAir flight arrived to the admiration of the crowd that turned out to receive them.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after his arrival at the Bauchi International Airport, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris said that 2025 Hajj operation was conducted smoothly without hitches.

He said that the 2025 Hajj operation was First of its kind in the history of the state considering the smooth end hitch-free conduct just as he acknowledged that there were a lot of achievements at the operation our pilgrims went to Mecca early and they came back in good time despite little changes recorded in our flight schedule.

The Secretary said that the main issue was with the return flight schedule, which was not as seamless as the outbound flights. According to him, the operating airline, MaxAir, had limited return flight schedules.

He called on National Hajj Commission NAHCON to ensure that more return flight slots are allocated to the airline in future operations, stressing that everything else went according to plan.

He commended the leadership of the 2025 Amirul Hajj, the Emir of Jama’are, Alhaji Nuhu Wabi; the Deputy Amirul Hajj, Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Suleiman; and other members of the team for a job well done.

Imam Abdurrahman said the achievements recorded to early preparations, timely securing of Visas for pilgrims and above all, the support and encouragement received from the Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad.

He thanked all the Hajj operation stakeholders who in one way or the other, made contribution to the success of the exercise, praying Allah to reward everyone.
Many pilgrims interviewed said “This year’s Hajj operation was one of the best in recent years. The arrangements before, during, and after the exercise were perfectly executed. We experienced minimal setbacks throughout.”
“We thank God for making the exercise a huge success. We went and returned safely.”
