The Coordinator of Senator Osita Izunaso campaign organization in Orlu Local Government Area, Emma Okafor (Agujiegbe) who claimed to be the first person to set up Izunaso’s campaign structures across the state has threatened to commit suicide if the Senators fails to settle him as promised on or before June 15, 2025.
Agujiegbe, in an audio recording currently circulating on different social media platforms stated that prior to the senatorial election in 2023, Senator Izunaso called him from America and later invited him to his house when he came back. and pleaded that I support his senatorial ambition. This, he said, made him throw his weight behind the senator.
According to him, “when Izunaso eventually won the election, he invited me to his house again and asked me what I wanted from him after commending me for a job well done. I told him that all I wanted was a car and financial empowerment which he promised to provide for me. It is therefore disheartening that uptill date, Senator Izunaso has not deemed it necessary to fulfill any of the promises he made based on the agreement we had and despite all the life threatening risks I took to ensure his victory before, during and after the election amidst the enormous prevailing security challenges.”
He expressed dismay that Izunaso has refused to give them the opportunity to reap the fruits of their labour, like Governor Uzodinma raised and empowered all those who worked for and with him when he was a senator.
“I have officially written to some prominent sons of Orlu zone. I am also saying this for a larger audience to hear how Senator Osita Izunaso has made my life miserable and meaningless.”
Agujiegbe also recalled that despite all that his uncle former Governor Achike Udenwa did to bring Izunaso to political limelight, the Senator has not in any way appreciated the former governor or his Amaifeke people, not to talk of himself. The embattled Agujiegbu further stated that he has become so miserable, that he cannot hold back any longer.
“Since I lack the capacity to fight or confront Senator Osita Izunaso with all his might, the only option for me is to end it all. If Senator Osita Izunaso fails to settle me as promised on or before June 15, 2025, I will commit suicide and my life will be on his head. I am not making an empty threat. I just want Imo people to hear me and know exactly why I committed suicide if It eventually comes to that,” he said.
