Ahead of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visit to Anambra State today, May 8, 2025, the Anambra State Police Command has announced a partial restriction of vehicular movement in parts of the state.
The move, according to the Command, is part of security measures put in place by the police and other sister security agencies to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free visit of the President, who is expected to commission key projects and engage with stakeholders during his stay.
In a public announcement released this morning, the Police, speaking on behalf of other security outfits, called for the cooperation and understanding of Ndi Anambra over the temporary traffic adjustment, assuring that it is for the greater good and safety of all.
The statement, signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, also urged residents to remain law-abiding and to continue supporting security agencies in their collective efforts to maintain peace and safety across the state.
While details of the specific routes affected by the movement restriction were not disclosed, the Command encouraged the public to bear with the temporary adjustment and assured that normalcy would be restored as soon as the President’s official engagements are concluded.
