Archbishop Onyekachi Nzekwesi, founder of Jesus is alive Church, Eziowelle in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra state has cautioned Biafra agitators against blowing Nnamdi Kanu’s saga out of proportion but rather allow stakeholders who are currently working underground to perfect their job so that Kanu will regain his freedom.
Reacting to criticisms against Igbo stakeholders like Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Southeast traditional rulers and Southeast governors that they could not tell President Bola Tinubu to face to release Kanu during his recent visit to Anambra state, Archbishop Nzekwesi who spoke to newsmen shortly after presiding over a wedding church service in his church, said it is not every matter that is treated in the open.
According to the clergy man who is also the Chief Executive Officer, CEO of Pine Leaf Estate and Properties, “People should not worry so much about Nnamdi Kanu’s because he will eventually regain his freedom sooner or later as many stakeholders are working behind the scene to secure his release”.
“It is not every matter that is treated in the open. There is no need blowing Kanu’s case out of proportion. We are not women to be shouting release Kanu, release Kanu in the open and thereafter we we will all go home and rest. I can assure you that the people that matter are currently working underground to secure Kanu”s freedom”.
“Kanu is in detention today because some people blew his saga out of proportion which led to the declaration of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPoB as a terrorist group which worsened his case because principle of democracy does not allow a sitting government to negotiate with terrorists. So, the best thing is to cool down and allow the stakeholders continue to work underground until he is released to continue with his agitation”.
He charged the newly wedded couple and others to see marriage as an institution that thrives on love, respect and loyalty.
According to him, respect, loyalty, care, love, submission, transparency, are the keys in maintaining good marriage relationships which will give room for marriage to be enjoyed and not endured.
He also admonished Christians to love one another unconditionally, with value and respect, irrespective of where one comes from, adding that churches should be a place where moral values are inculcated to people as it was in the time of the old.
“I encourage people, especially the youths, to turn to God and abandon criminal activities. I urge them to avoid actions that could tarnish their family’s reputation and harm the society”.
Emphasizing the importance of divine blessings, he declared: “true wealth and good things come from God, not through illicit means and any wealth or blessing not rooted from God I’ll gotten wealth”.
Sharing his personal testimony, the Archbishop revealed that he dedicated his life to Jesus at a young age, despite coming from a wealthy background.
Archbishop Nzekwesi commended the governor of Anambra state, Prof. Charles Soludo for his giant strides to transform the state and align with the centre despite not being a member of the ruling party APC.
He extolled the governor for his efforts at ensuring good security network for the state, adding, “the present security situation in Anambra state is top notch”.
