The Permanent Secretaries in Anambra State have expressed deep admiration for Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s visionary leadership and infrastructural transformation, following their recent tour of the newly constructed Government House and Governor’s Lodge in Awka — a landmark feat that breaks a 34-year-old jinx in the state’s political and administrative history.
Led by the State Head of Service, Barr. Theodora Igwegbe, the top government officials marveled at the ultramodern facilities, describing the buildings as monumental symbols of a new era in governance and public service in Anambra State. The team was guided around the various projects by the State Commissioner for Works, Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma.
Speaking during the tour on Tuesday, Barr. Igwegbe noted that the new Government House is more than just a structure, but also a statement of purpose and a bold step toward institutional excellence, transparency, and improved service delivery in the state.
“It is just amazing! Everybody is happy as we undertake this tour because people did not expect the kind of development that we are seeing here this evening. And we are grateful to Mr. Governor for having broken that jinx; because everybody knows that in 34 whole years, Anambra State did not have a Government House,” she stated.
Continuing, she said “Now we have a Government House, we have our Governor’s Lodge, we have everything here. We have an amphitheater, we have a Presidential Lodge, we have a banquet hall and much more. There is nothing that is not located inside this beautiful city, known as the Government House of Anambra State.”
The HOS added that the quality of design, the layout, and the deliberate integration of modern amenities in the structures reflect not only Soludo’s dedication to excellence but also his determination to provide a conducive working environment for the state’s public service workforce.
According to her, the entire body of Permanent Secretaries is not only satisfied but is also inspired by the Governor’s developmental strides, while also pledging their collective support for the Governor’s administration and his re-election bid come November 2025.
“We are very grateful to Mr. Solution, and we want to openly declare our support for you. Mr. Governor, we love you for what you are doing in Anambra State, and we encourage you to keep doing more, because we know that you are Mr. Ọlụ Atụ Égwù,” she declared, adding that the Governor has brought solutions to the problems of Anambra State.
Coming barely two days after that of the Anambra Tricycle Drivers Forum (AKDF), this reporter, Izunna Okafor, gathered that the latest visit and declaration by representatives of Anambra civil servants mark yet another validation of Governor Soludo’s growing panegyrics and endorsement by the general public, including the indigenes and non-indigenes of the state who regard his administration as transformational, courageous, and progressive and re-election-worthy in every sense of it.
