Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in Anambra state Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu has contended that President Ahmed Bola Tinubu has no pact with Gov Charles Soludo ahead of the November 8th election in Anambra state.
Ukachukwu who disclosed this at the Chinua Achebe Airport Umuleri at his reception and that of his running mate Sen Uche Ekwunife contended that Soludo has not contested any election noting that the last gubernatorial election was contested by the Former governor Chief Willie Obiano.
He challenged Soludo to the November election boasting that President Ahmed Bola Tinubu personally asked him to deliver APC and bring Anambra state to the center of Natural governance in the country.
In 2021, it was Obiano who ran the race for him. This time, let him come to the field and test his own popularity.”
Ukachukwu noted that Anambra State is “in darkness” and asserted that his mission is to bring progress and development to the state.
He disclosed that following a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he was personally tasked with delivering Anambra State to the APC:
“The President told me, ‘Go and bring Anambra to join the national government in Abuja,’ and I intend to do just that.”he stated.
He called on all party stakeholders from ward leaders to local government and state executives to unite and work collectively for APC’s success in the upcoming election:
“I urge all of you to go home and mobilize. Let’s work together in unity. If we win, I am not going to appoint only myself , I won’t become a commissioner or hoard power. I make this vow: I will not neglect or disappoint you. We must liberate Anambra so that everyone can live in peace and prosperity.” he noted.
Ukachukwu dismissed claims by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) that President Tinubu is secretly supporting Governor Soludo, calling it “a ridiculous insinuation”
“President Tinubu is an APC member. There is no way he would support APGA or engage in anti-party activities.” he said .
He confidently declared that APC would take over Anambra in the 2025 election, adding that the state is “overripe” for political change.
During the event, he formally presented his running mate, Senator Uche Ekwunife, and handed her the APC flag. Ukachukwu described her as a seasoned politician with extensive experience in Anambra politics.
In her remarks, Ekwunife reaffirmed their joint commitment to victory.
“We are in this race to win, and we will pursue every legal avenue to ensure Anambra State is aligned with the federal government in Abuja. Prince Ukachukwu is a political heavyweight with a deep understanding of Anambra and hands-on experience in virtually every sector of the economy.”she said.
Also speaking at the event, APC State Chairman, Chief Basil Ejidike, reinforced that the presidency has no alliance with APGA or Soludo.
“Let no one be deceived there is no partnership between the presidency and APGA. We are moving into Government House, Awka. Prince Ukachukwu is the right candidate to unseat the APGA administration.” he said.
