A new state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chris Odoemenam, has emerged in Imo state.
A member of the House of representatives, Ikenga Ugochinyere Imo made the disclosure on Friday while addressing journalists and his supporters at his country home in Akokwa community in the Ideato North Local Government Area of the state.
The Federal lawmaker said that the appointment of Odoemenam in acting capacity was as a result of what he described as the absence of elected State Working Members of the party in the state.
He said that the Congress that produced Austin Nwachukwu as the state chairman of the party was null and void.
Imo described Nwachukwu as an errand boy of the national secretary of the party, Samuel Anyanwu.
The Federal lawmaker said that as the leader of the party in the state, it was his responsibility to ensure that the PDP was not destroyed in the party.
He said that under the New leadership, PDP in the state would be made formidable and geared up to win elections in the nearest future.
