A covert scheme to link Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State to the recent pipeline explosions in the Niger Delta has been exposed. According to a reliable source, a clandestine operation has been orchestrated, involving the manipulation of prisoners held at the Okaka Correctional Facility in Bayelsa State. The prisoners are reportedly being coerced into falsely confessing their involvement in the explosions, with the promise of their release if they comply.
The plot, which was reportedly finalized on the night of Thursday, March 20, 2025, aims to implicate Governor Fubara in the pipeline breaches that occurred in Gokana, Rivers State, and various parts of Bayelsa. Sources indicate that this is part of a larger effort to frame the governor, whose administration has been embroiled in political tensions with Abuja and other political factions.
The prisoners, who have been promised early release for their false confessions, are being manipulated to align with a narrative that ties Governor Fubara to the incidents. This narrative has been further bolstered by the prior involvement of Abuja-based politicians who are believed to be seeking to destabilize the region in order to justify the continued imposition of a state of emergency in Rivers State.
According to an anonymous source, the masterminds behind the scheme are reportedly working in collaboration with political figures in Abuja who stand to gain from the unrest in the region. The goal is to create a chaotic situation that could serve as a justification for the continued state of emergency declared by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which many critics believe was imposed to stifle political opposition and further centralize power.
This plot comes in the wake of similar tactics observed in the past, such as the involvement of prisoners from a correctional facility in Warri, Delta State, who were linked to armed robberies in Benin City. The same modus operandi appears to be at play in this current scheme, with the intention to use the prisoners as pawns to frame the governor and escalate the crisis in the Niger Delta.
The pipeline explosions in Gokana, Rivers State, and other areas in Bayelsa are widely believed to have been orchestrated by militant groups, in part due to ongoing tensions over the treatment of the Ijaw people and threats from various factions in the region. However, political analysts suggest that Abuja-based politicians are seizing upon the situation to deepen the political crisis and further justify the controversial state of emergency.
Authorities are reportedly preparing to parade the prisoners involved in this plot as early as today, Friday, March 21, 2025, or by Saturday, March 22, 2025, in an effort to sway public opinion and escalate political tension in the region.
Nigerians, particularly in the Niger Delta, have expressed growing concern over the increasing use of such unconventional and dangerous tactics by politicians to manipulate public opinion and further their political interests. Observers warn that if these types of Machiavellian schemes continue to gain traction, the very foundation of democracy in the country may be at risk, with ordinary citizens bearing the brunt of the consequences.
As the situation unfolds, the Concerned Niger Delta Youth Forum (CNDYF) has issued a statement calling for transparency, fairness, and an end to the exploitation of the Niger Delta region for political gains. The group also called on citizens to remain vigilant and resist any attempts to destabilize the region through deceitful political maneuvers.
The revelation of this plot serves as a stark reminder of the lengths to which some political actors are willing to go to advance their agendas, and the growing danger to the stability of Nigeria’s democracy.
