Some nurses are currently protesting in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital after a relative of a patient flogged a nurse mercilessly on Monday and removed the teeth.
Our correspondent gathered that the ugly incident happened at FATHA along Abakaliki – Enugu expressway.
Speaking with our reporter under anonymity, a nurse at the hospital said they are protesting because of how they are being treated sometimes by relatives of some patients.
“This morning, a relative of a patient flogged our member mercilessly and removed one of her teeths. We are not happy and that’s why we are protesting”, the nurse said.
As at the time of filing this report, efforts to ascertain why the relative of the patients flogged the nurse proved abortive.
Efforts to also speak with government officials also yield positive results.
