The people of Ebenator community in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State have congratulated the State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, on his third-year anniversary in office as Governor.
The President General of the Ebenator Development Union (E.D.U.), Ambassador Chigozie Anadi, gave the felicitation in an interview with this reporter as the Governor’s administration clocked three years in office on Monday, March 17.
Ambassador Anadi described Governor Soludo as a visionary leader whose administration has brought significant transformation to various sectors of the state, including infrastructure, security, and economic development. He praised the Governor’s commitment to grassroots development and his efforts in addressing critical challenges affecting rural communities.
According to him, Ebenator community has witnessed a renewed sense of hope under the Soludo Administration, especially with the attention given to pressing issues that has long troubled the community. He noted that Governor Soludo’s leadership style, which prioritizes people-oriented policies, has endeared him to the citizens of the state.
He specifically commended the Governor for his first-phase intervention on the deadly erosion gully (popularly known as Ibo Ebenator), which has troubled the community for decades, among other laudable projects of his administration. He described the intervention as a long-awaited relief for the people of Ebenator, who had lived in fear of the devastating impact of the erosion on their homes, farmlands, and roads.
While appreciating the Governor for this critical intervention, the Ebenator PG also appealed for more comprehensive measures to fully tackle the erosion menace and prevent further degradation of the area. He emphasized that the completion of the project would not only safeguard the lives and properties of residents but also fuel agricultural and economic activities and equally restore ease of movement within the community, among other benefits.
He also highlighted some other projects by the Soludo Administration in Ebenator community, including the flag-off of the construction of thirty (30) units of open stalls (Ọdụ Ahịa), as well as the reconstruction of four (4) non-functional boreholes and converting them from electric submersible pumps to solar-powered extraction systems.
He further reassured that the leadership and indigenes of Ebenator would continue supporting Governor Soludo’s administration, even as he expressed optimism for greater progress of the community and more positive transformations under the Governor’s leadership.
“We are deeply grateful to Governor Soludo for his attention and for taking decisive action on the erosion gully that has been a major threat to our community. His intervention has renewed our confidence in the government, and we believe that with sustained efforts, the remaining phases of the project will be completed. We pray for more wisdom and strength for him to continue his good works in Anambra State,” he concluded.
