In a fiery social media post, Daure David, a prominent loyalist of Governor Bala Mohammed, youth advocate, and Coordinator of the Red Cap Movement of Nigeria, Bauchi State Chapter, has responded sharply to Lere Olayinka, a media aide to Governor Nyesom Wike, following claims made about Ugochinyere’s alleged refusal to respond to Governor Fubara’s calls.

David, in his post, strongly criticized Olayinka, accusing him of spreading misleading narratives. “I don’t blame Lere Olayinka. They’ve used his brain to drink 40-year-old whiskey while paying him a mere 168k per month to spread such baseless claims,” David remarked, condemning Olayinka’s insinuations.

The controversy erupted after Olayinka suggested that Ugochinyere had been avoiding attempts by Governor Fubara to reach him. This statement led to a heated debate online, with many questioning Olayinka’s credibility and motives behind making such claims.

David did not hold back, drawing attention to a previous incident involving Dino Melaye and Nyesom Wike. David suggested that Melaye had ceased taking Wike’s calls after the latter’s unsuccessful plea for his inclusion as Atiku Abubakar’s running mate in the 2023 presidential election. David further sarcastically added that Atiku “ran for his life,” hinting at the former Vice President’s reluctance to engage with certain political figures.

The verbal exchange continued with David taking aim at Olayinka’s age, calling him a “60-year-old media aide to the ‘Hitler of Ikwerre,’” referencing the perceived dominance of Wike in the Rivers State political landscape.

While the spat between David and Olayinka may appear as a simple exchange of words, it highlights the growing political tensions and personal rivalries that continue to shape the political discourse in the region. Both David and Olayinka are aligned with opposing political factions, which further fuels the controversy as the state prepares for the upcoming elections.

David’s remarks have ignited widespread discussions on social media, with supporters of both sides engaging in heated debates. It remains to be seen whether these exchanges will escalate or subside in the coming days as the political landscape continues to evolve.
