From Mohammed Nasir Shuaibu BAUCHI
Bauchi State’s Ministry of Education has dissolved contracts with food vendors supplying boarding schools, aiming to enhance student nutrition.
The decision, made after meeting with vendors, prioritizes transparency, accountability, and high-quality food standards.
The Commissioner for Education, Dr. Lawal Mohammed Rimin Zayam, emphasized that student health and well-being are paramount.
This move aligns with Governor Senator Bala Mohammed’s vision of providing nutritious meals to students.
The Ministry encourages vendors to reapply, provided they meet stringent quality requirements.
This development follows the state’s efforts to address nutrition and food security, including the domestication of a Food and Nutrition Policy.
