As November 8, 2025 governorship election draws closer, Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra state has reportedly approved five hundred million naira for propaganda and coordinated media attack against his attackers and the opposition elements.
Top targets, according to the information, are the Spiritual Director of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, Anambra state, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma (Fr. Ebube Muonso) and a number of other opposition elements, especially within the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Labour Party (LP), who the governor is said to have perceived as his top attackers.
A source close to the governor’s press crew, who leaked the information to his journalist friend in Awka (names withheld), said the idea and subsequent approval was hatched last weekend, during a meeting between the governor and a selected members of his media team.
The source said, “I want to leak this secret to you. Some of these people working closely with Oga have convinced him to set aside substantial amount of money for media war and propaganda. The budget is N500m.
“Discussion about Fada Ebube Muonso featured prominently at that meeting. They said that Fada and his likes have continued to constitute big problem for this administration, and that the money was to make the media unit stronger, and possibly bring more hands; so that anybody that attacks Oga within this election period will be taken to the gutters.
“Governor encouraged them to do coordinated media attack on anybody that attacks him or any of his policies and programmes, from now till the end of the governorship election on November 8.
“They have already discussed how to be writing features and stories, and how much each feature or story will cost per writer. Infact, it is big money. They promised that from this moment, if you attack anybody that attacks Oga, you will earn huge money.
“Anybody that attacks the governor this time around is in trouble. His media team is being re-organized presently, and they are in money. His media is out for coordinated attacks. No mercy. The money will also be used for newspaper advertorials and promotion of Oga’s good works in the past years – since he started as governor.
“We’re embarking on projects tour already. After the tour, you will start seeing what our Oga has done on pages of newspapers and media outlets. They will be there on pages of national newspapers. Oga has made fund available for everything.”
In his reaction, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Christian Aburime, dismissed the information as lie.
He said, “How does it sound to you that Mr. Governor will map out whooping N500m just for media attack? When you come across such report, know that they’re handworks of enemies of the governor.”
Also reacting, Mr. Obinna Obiadi, Personal Assistant to Dr. Law Mefor, Commissioner for Information in Anambra State, described the information as untrue.
“Why would Governor Soludo approve such money for media attack and blackmail alone, when he has multitude of projects in his hands? Nobody has time to entertain such gossips,” he said.
