Again, Dr. Fabian Ihekweme has exposed alleged dirty deal behind governor Hope Uzodinma’s recent trip to Cairo trip in Egypt.

Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma who Left his State two days after the funeral of late Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu who was an elder statesman, (PG Ohanaeze Ndigbo).

In an article published on Monday, 4 November, ex Imo Commissioner alleged that uzodinma’s recent trip is not for the best interest of the state.

The article read;

“ANOTHER SPECIAL APPEAL TO GOVERNOR HOPE UZODIMMA TO PITY IMO PEOPLE SMALL.*

“LATEST GOVERNOR’S TRIP TO EGYPT; TOP SECRET AND DIVERSIONARY — DR. FABIAN IHEKWEME

“In less than one hour after I had revealed Sen. Hope Uzodinma’s sudden disappearance on Saturday morning, the 2nd of November soon after the burial of Ahaejiagamba on the 1st of November, the Governor’s Aides within an hour of my release on the 3rd of November, did a counter release announcing the Governor’s sudden appearance in far away Egypt, just like that. So it took my disclosure about his sudden elopement for Imolites to be duly informed through official channel that their Governor had traveled to Egypt on official duty. This is wickedness of the highest order.

“The irony of the whole thing is that, he had asked state protocols to book appointments for some people to see him even up to Wednesday 6th of November in Owerri. While these people gleefully started working towards their various appointments with the Governor, he left them at the high sea and was on his way to Egypt. This is how contemptuous and lowly he regards Imolites and others who seek his attention as Governor of the state. Everything being done on behalf of the state and being funded with state resources is shrouded in utmost secrecy. What a travesty against Imo people?.

“Now we are being rudely informed through a hurriedly prepared rejoinder that the Governor arrived Egypt on an official assignment with Afrexim Bank led by its President, Professor Benedict Okey Oramah and the Egyptian partners for the state initiated Orashi Power Project only after I blew the whistle about his sudden disappearance from the state. The Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has a duty to inform Imolites what he’s busy cooking in Egypt for and on behalf of the good people of Imo State.

“The same Afrexim Bank and its officials the Governor claims to have gone to  see in Egypt have been hunting for him in the past three months in Imo, Abuja, and Lagos concerning their $1.5 Billion loan package for Imo State and to Kickstart their Africa Quality Assurance Center, a multimillion dollars Afrexim investment earlier flagged off in Umuoma village in Ngor Okpala Imo State all to no avail.

” Infact, the Afrexim President Benedict Oramah and his team on hearing from the Governor that he would pass through London on his way to Dubai during his last trip outside the country, they went ahead of him and waited for him in London acting on his instruction only for him to bypass them straight to Dubai. Now, the people that wasted three months without seeing the Governor in Nigeria, are the same people we are being told that he went to look for in Egypt, what is this man really cooking against our state?, we just have to ask?

Again, more interesting is the fact, that during his last official trip to Egypt to negotiate or transact the $1.5 Billion loan for the state, no state official was good enough to accompany him to help put official seal to the discussions. The Commissioner for Finance, the Attorney General of the state, the Commissioner for trade and commerce whose Ministry is supposed to oversee the establishment of the Africa Quality Assurance Centre investment in the state, are all found not worthy to be part of discussions on the multimillion dollars investment proposal for the state by Afrexim Bank. The Governor only goes to such trips with one Yoruba lady Bola Adigun he named his consultant. So no Imolite is worthy to witness the so called goodies meant for our state. Please, who will help me talk to this Governor to halt his sinister motivation against his people and pity us small bikonu?

“What did Imo people do to Hope Uzodinma to deserve this level of animosity and wickedness?

“The so called Power Project he promised Imolites amid wild jubilation in the state is also following the same pattern of deceit and scam. The Egyptian partners for the Orashi Power Project came once and after spending close to one month without seeing him left in anger and vowed never to set foot in Imo state again. That is so much about our much talked about Orashi Power Project and all its shenanigans.

“The greed to personally control the loans and funding for these projects is the reason the Governor chose to be playing hide and seek with these investors. I can tell him for free that the investors will not release one dollar of their money to him without due process. That is why he must take along with him a team of Imo state officials to these trips if what is being discussed is in the best interest of the state for anything meaningful to be achieved. I will once again, further advise the Governor to desist from his one man show or one man stakeholder in the state for Ala Imo to move forward. Imo people deserve his pity.

“Only the Governor knows why he travelled back to Egypt. Sen. Uzodinma should go back to his people (Oru Nation), open up to them now before it is too late. He can still be saved.”
