Why Police Moved Two Suspected Attackers Of Petrol Dealer To Owerri

The police in Orlu Imo State on Sunday moved two persons linked to the shooting and robbing of a petrol dealer Celestine Chidi Okolie to the state command headquarters in Owerri, the state capital.

The transfer to Owerri is to enable the police carry out thorough investigation into the matter.

Our correspondent gathered that a three-member armed gang on Saturday August 31 at about 9:00pm invaded the Total Filing Station at Owerri Ebeiri Community when the workers were winding down for the day

The robbers seized the day’s sales proceeds and shot the manager of the station, Chidi Okolie at the jaw.

The devastation caused by the bullet on his jaw sent Mr. Okolie to the hospital where he spent about one month.

Doctors put him under the knife in series of surgery to rebuild his jaw and restore his speech.

The vigilance group Ebubeagu which arrested the suspects only turned them over to the police last weekend.
