Dr Fabian Ihekweme, a former Commissioner for Foreign Investment, under the Hope Uzodinma administration, has taken a swipe at the Governor who he accused of inability to inspire, groom and positively transform people’s lives, especially his Aides and confidants, the way his predecessors, Achike Udenwa, Ikedi Ohakim and Owelle Rochas Okorocha did for those who came in close contact with them.

Ihekweme, who stated this in an article he wrote and made available to the press, noted that Governor Uzodinma, has neither empowered nor made any person a millionaire not to talk of a billionaire since he assumed office in January, 2020.

He also urged the Governor to desist from the ignoble inclination of sharing the resources of the state with strangers in different guises, instead of using them to develop the state and improve the welfare of Imolites who, according to him are ravaged by poverty, lack and deprivation occasioned by inept, purposeless and insensitive governance.

The article captioned, “IHEKWEME ADMONISHES IMO STATE GOVERNMENT TO FOCUS ON BUILDING CAPACITY AND PROMOTE HUMAN DEVELOPMENT”, reads, “Imo state belongs to all of us and we are one people. It amounts to grave injustice for a leader entrusted with our collective resources to be self serving and heartless. I am not fighting for my children alone, I am fighting for those who are voiceless. I am fighting equally for my brothers and sisters who are in the service of Imo state government but cannot prove themselves anywhere.

The Governor should deploy the resources of the state to work for the people. Imo people are suffering in extreme poverty, starvation and deprivation reigning at every part of the state. The government has failed to develop strategies to pull our people out from the depth of poverty. The resources of the state is being pilfered away to funding frivolities and political exigencies while infrastructures suffer. There is no gubernatorial and establishment presence in Imo state. Imo state resources have become the second national cake after the federal government. Popular Emirs and other revered traditional rulers, Clergy men, top political mafias, Court Judges, are currently feasting on our resources. This has brought untold hardship in Imo state. The government has weaponised hunger as a political tool and as long as the people are hungry, they won’t be able to fight for their rights. And that makes protests also impossible. This has been the situation in Imo state. Everybody seems to have lost his or her voice for fear of the unknown. The people are living in fear, resigned to fate and waiting for God’s intervention. We therefore, plead to our famous and celebrity Governor, to revive Local Government Administration and mandate the newly elected Chairmen to work with the enormous resources that will be at their disposal to ameliorate the sufferings of the people especially, those living in hinterlands. We also beg the Governor to deploy the resources within his own control to good use inside the state. Three years is enough to leave a fantastic lasting legacy that will be admired by generations yet unborn.

My heart beats for the people of Imo state. *Governor Achike Udenwa* provided quality leadership and kept the state in one piece. Udenwa made so many people millionaires and billionaires and all of them are still enjoying till today. *Governor Ikedi Ohakim* under four years made hundreds of Imo people millionaires and billionaires. My brief spell as the Chairman of Imo Newspapers under Ohakim, my monthly imprest was N4.8m. And I was getting this money promptly. What about *Gov. Rochas Okorocha?* This Governor made thousands of his supporters who are Imo people millionaires and billionaires and most of them no matter where they are, still see him as The Boss. Okorocha was intentional in empowering his people. Now, what about *Gov. Hope Uzodinma?* After five years, this man has not made even a single person to become someone. He has impoverished every soul that came in contact with him. This man hates to see people progress. I can count over 500 people Rochas Okorocha made billionaires and they are rich till today. Most of the Apostles and disciples of Hope Uzodinma are extremely poor, and he feels happy about that. He is scared of making anybody rich because he hates to be challenged. He wants to be the only rich man known for giving alms to people. That’s the “mkpuru oka” formula and mentality.
