The Anambra State government has placed bounty on the perpetrators of the bloodshed that occurred on Sunday in Nibo community, in Awka South Local Government Area of the State.

Recall that some yet-to-be-identified hoodlums, on Sunday afternoon, stormed the Oye Nwochichi Market in Nibo and Eke Nibo Market, and opened fire on people, killing no fewer than ten persons.

The police in a statement issued on Sunday, attributed the incident to a cult-related clash between rival cult groups.

However, reacting to the incident through a statement signed by the State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor; the Anambra state government said this was not the first time such thing was happening in the state in recent time.
