The Senator representing the Anambra Central Senatorial district at the upper legislative chamber of the national assembly, Senator Victor Umeh may not be having the best of times judging from the recent developments from his constituency in Anambra State.

This is following his recent comment disparaging the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labor party in the person of Mr. Peter Obi. Senator Victor Umeh had made public statements on the troubles bedeviling the leadership of the Labor party. He discounted the leadership qualities of Mr. Peter Obi while adding that Peter Obi nor Gov Alex Otti were the national political leaders of the labor party.

To this, one of the leaders of the All Progressive Grand Alliance [APGA], Chief Benjamin Obi [aka Igwe APGA] who had served with Senator Victor Umeh when he [Victor Umeh] was the national chairman of the APGA – called Victor Umeh a hypocrite and a greedy man. He tagged his comments as unfortunate and disappointing while adding that Senator Victor Umeh may have bitten the finger that fed him.

Politically, Victor Umeh is nobody without Peter Obi. He may have forgotten where he was before Peter Obi changed his life. He was nowhere. A nobody. After he was rehabilitated by Peter Obi, he began to plot for the downfall of Peter Obi with the enemies of Anambra State. We know his activities in Anambra.

Chief Benjamin Obi explained that Victor Umeh was already on his way to political purgatory after having lost the senatorial until he joined the Labor party and benefited from the Obidient movement which swept across the regions during the 2023 elections. “He had no chance of winning that election. He rode the Peter Obi wave. Now, he wants to disparage Peter Obi?

Chief Benjamin Obi recalled that shortly after Chief Emeka Ojukwu’s death, “Victor Umeh led us to the Enugu home of Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu to salute him, Umeh swore by his life not to abandon APGA, and to remain in the party to lead the people Ojukwu bequeathed on him. He made this vow before us in front of Ojukwu tomb, but he couldn’t keep to the words and promise he made to the spirit of the Igbo leader“.

We all know Victor Umeh. He is not a good person. A very corrupt and selfish man. He recently collected N200million from the senate for constituency related projects. Of which, only about N30million was accounted for. The rest of the money disappeared into Victor Umeh’s pockets

Chief Benjamin Obi spoke to 247ureports.com from his vacation home in the United States of America [USA]. He asked for the Senator to return the properties belonging to the late Senator Ifeanyi Uba to his wife and children before talking about Mr. Peter Obi.

Return the G-Wagon to the family as a good Christian”.

Particularly, Chief Benjamin Obi pointed to a Mercedes Benz G-Wagon belonging to the late Senator Ifeanyi Uba which was given to the then Chief Victor Umeh as the then APGA national chairman in return for the gubernatorial ticket to contest for the Anambra State governor’s seat. Victor Umeh took the sport utility vehicle but failed to secure the gubernatorial ticket for Ifeanyi Uba – which resulted to a request from Ifeanyi Uba for the vehicle to be returned.

In addition, Chief Benjamin Obi who is often refereed to as Igwe APGA revealed that Senator Victor Umeh is also owing a slew of APGA members – consisting ofwould-be candidates for councilor-ship and participants of the Local Government Area primary elections. According to Chief Benjamin Obi, Victor Umeh as the then national chairman of APGA collected monies from the would-be candidates and failed to conduct the said primary elections. “He pocketed our money and left“.

I have been asked by the members of APGA to reach out to Senator Victor Umeh to collect the debt he is owing to avoid embarrassment on his person. We don’t want to approach him in an embarrassing way. We want him to pay up especially since he has sold the palliative [rice] that he was given by the Tinubu administration for onward distribution to his constituents for free. Victor Umeh sold his own. He make money for himself. And now that he has some loose cash, we want him to pay up the debt.
