Non Indigenes Mobilize  7,000 Members For Anambra LG Poll

The Association of Non Indigenes In Anambra State ANIAS has so far mobilized and carried out a two week sensitization program on voter education for about 7,000 members.
Similarly the Association has urged the nine political parties taking part in the September 28th local government election to show spirit of sportsmanship and law abiding during the excise.
To this end the Association has admonished the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission ANSIEC to ensure that both sensitive and non sensitive materials for the election get to the respective wards and polling units on time in order not to disenfranchise voters.
According to the President General of the Association of Non Indigenes In Anambra State ANIAS Prince Chigozie Nweke the body has in the last two weeks been carrying out voter education programs across the twenty one Council Areas in the state using the Chairmen and Presidents of the thirty five states of the federation resident in the state.
“We know how important local government election is to the governance of the grassroots and that is why we had to educate, mobilize and sensitize our members on the need to perform their civic responsibilities”
“For us as non Indigenes in Anambra state we are partners in this interprice and whatever leadership that is enthroned in Anambra would affect us either negatively or positively”
“We made use of the Chairmen and Presidents of respective Communities in the thirty five states of the federation resident in Anambra state and about 7,000 members participated in the program which took place at the respective local government areas and the three Senatorial Districts of Anambra state “
Continuing Prince Chigozie Nweke noted that;
“The Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission ANSIEC has a great task of ensuring that materials for the election get to the wards and polling units on time so that incidents of people not performing their civic responsibilities would be avoided ‘”
Nweke also urged the Anambra state Police Command and other sister security organizations to ensure a free fair and credible transparent process come September 28th election.
