Ahead of the Local Government Council elections holding October 5, 2024, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has flagged its campaign in Gboko Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking during the flag off ceremony on Wednesday, Governor Hyacinth Alia charged the candidates to work hard across their LGs to ensure victory.
Represented by his Deputy, Barr Sam Ode, the Governor urged the party supporters to ensure that the APC candidates won all the positions in the coming polls.
He promised to conduct a free, fair and elections and provide a level playing ground for all political parties to test their popularity.
At the event, Governor Alia, handed over 23 flags to the APC chairmanship candidates and their deputies with a charge to win victory for the party and work for their people.
Earlier, APC State Caretaker Chairman, Dr Benjamin Omale, said the committee has played a vital role in addressing the concerns of aggrieved aspirants ensuring that every voice was heard and valued.
Omale said the committee’s efforts have been instrumental in fostering unity and understanding within the party.
While stating that the APC administration in the State was committed to delivering on their campaign promises, Omale urged party supporters to come out en-mass on the October 5, 2024 vote for all candidates of the APC for better service delivery and for the general good of the people.
He further commeded President Bola Tinubu, National Chairman APC and the working committee for their support in bringing peace to Benue APC and formation of the unity caretaker committee.
Also speaking, Sen Joseph Akaagerger said the entire people of Zone A were fully behind the governor and would return all the APC candidates come October 5.
Also Barr Emmanuel Jime, while speaking for the people of Zone B said the masses elected Governor Alia and that was why he is working for them.
Barr Jime said the governor was only doing what the electorates asked him to do by executing people oriented projects and building human capacity.
He urged the local government chairmanship candidates to enure that they replicate the governor’s mood of administration at the grassroots.
Speaking to journalists, APC State Organizing Secretary, James Orgunga, said the party fielded candidates in all the chairmanship and councillorship positions for the election adding that the party was fully prepared for the election.
