The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Apams Funeral Ltd., Chief Dr. Kevin Chukwumobi, has extended the tentacles of his funeral undertaking services and venture to Uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom State.
The extension came to light, following the unveiling of the company’s newest office and contact centre in the
city of Uyo, a historic addition that also coincided with the addition of another one year to the age of the Apams Boss, Chief Chukwumobi, an illustrious son of Ukpor, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
According to reports, the newest state-of-the-art office and contact center, is the 18th of its kind belonging to the company in different parts of the country, and is located along the ever busy Akah Road in the heart of Uyo city.
Speaking during the ceremony organized to mark the unveiling, the Apams Founder, Chief Chukwumobi revealed that it was during the Akuluno United Brothers Association’s meetings, at Four Points, by Sheraton Hotel, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, that he was convinced to expand his venture into the city — an advice he said he said he began working on, which eventually gave rise to the new edifice.
According to him, the event would have been held in a greater magnitude, but for the death of his immediate elder sister, Mrs. Maureen Nkiru Chukwulokwu (nee Chukwumobi), who was recently buried in Ukpor. He, however, appreciated everyone who honoured his invitation to the unveiling ceremony, despite the shortness of the notice, while also noting that people’s solidarity and synergy with the host community all served as sources of motivation to him, both before, during, and after the project.
The Apams CEO also specifically appreciated the members of the Ukpor Improvement Union in Akwa Ibom State, who graced the occasion in large numbers, also specially commending one of them, Chief Christian Chukwubuike (Nkeonyeneme n’Ukpor) for his efforts towards making the dream a reality.
Earlier speaking, Reverend Fathers Livinus Chidi Ibekwe and Emmanuel Ime Umoh of the Catholic Diocese of Uyo, who congratulated the Apams Ltd. for the giant milestone and sustained growth, also prayed for and blessed the new office and Chief Chukwumobi.
On his own part, the Community Youth Leader of Uyo Village, Mr Enobong Ekong, commended Dr. Chukwumobi for carrying them along at every stage of the project, which, he confirmed, was the reason majority of them attended the event to show him solidarity. He praised him for his business insight and assured him they would continue to give him the needed support to succeed in Uyo.
Also speaking, while commending Apams Boss for his bold business move in Uyo, the Chairman of the Ukpor Improvement Union (Akwa Ibom branch), Mr. Marcel Ugwumba, said expressed joy over extending his company’s presence in the City.
“We are happy that you’re now here in Uyo. That is why we have come out en masse to join in this celebration. We can only continue to encourage you to continue to soar to greater height in business because you’re our own.
“As you can see, we are not just happy that you now have your business presence here but are equally happy that you are also with us,” Mr. Ugwumba said.
Similary, the Chairlady of the Women Wing of the Ukpor Improvement Union (Akwa Ibom Branch), Mrs. Grace Egeonu, also praised Apams MD for his giant strides in business.
High point of the event was the official unveiling of the Complex by a prominent Anambrarian, Chief Tobechi Ejezie (Dike Igbo), who is also a former President of Onitsha Sports Club, and CEO of Club Euphoria, Port Harcourt.
Furthermore, an automatic membership of Ukpor Improvement Union (Akwa Ibom Branch) was granted to Dr. Kevin Chukwumobi, and Wife, Lady Nkem Chukwumobi (Ugosimba), while generous donation was also done by the celebrant to support the activities of the Union by Dr. Chukwumobi.
Graced by friends of the celebrants, Dr. Chukwumobi, family members, senior Management staff of Apams Funeral Ltd., members of the Ukpor Community in Akwa Ibom, and representatives of the host community; the event also featured choreography and other performances by Apams brass band.
Reports have it that Apams funeral Ltd. is the biggest funeral brand in West Africa, with locations in over 18 cities in Nigeria, including Abuja and Lagos, with the Uyo branch as the 18th Contact center in Nigeria.
It was also gathered that Dr. Chukwumobi has recently made it customary to be launching a new office on every of his birthday, September 22.
