The Nigeria National League (NNL) has approved the use of officials Balls and bibs by Nigeria National League NNL teams during matches in 2024/2025 League season in the country, saying “only Prostar/NNL branded Balls and NNL bibs shall be allowed in NNL matches in the 2024/2025 League season”.
Besides, the body also adopted and approved for a monthly award shall be given to the best performing referee. As well as to the best goalkeeper, best Coach, most valuable player, best goal scorers and best behaved team.
This was contained in a communique issued at the end of it’s Annual General Meeting AGM held on 28th September, 2024 in Bauchi which was jointly signed by the Chairman, Secretary and members of the drafting committee Yakubu Sarma,
Amar Ignis, Dr.Ayo Abdulrahaman and Ismail Hamze respectively.
The meeting also approved the 2023/2024 league table as presented by the secretariat of the Nigeria National League. And after reviewing the amendments to the framework rules and regulations adopted the amended NNL rules and regulation as a legal working document for the 2024/2025 Season.
Adding that henceforth, only Prostar/NNL branded Balls and NNL bibs shall be allowed in NNL matches in the 2024/2025 League season. Also a monthly award shall be given to the best performing referee.
Similarly, the NNL Annual General Meeting agreed that only stadia that meets the required NNL Stadium facilities criteria shall be approved for the 2024/2025 League season. And a four(4) conferences of 36 clubs format of nine (9) teams each for the 2024/2025 new season.
The AGM further approved Saturday 30th November, 2024 as the kick-off date for the 2024/2025 NNL League season with a Star Match only. However, other Match Day One League matches are to be played one week later.
On part of financial report, the meeting approved and adopted the 2023/2024 financial report as presented by the League external auditor, as well as the 2024/2025 league budget as presented by the League Board.
The AGM went further to approved the election of the new executive Nigeria National League Club Owners and Managers Association (NALCOMA), with Godwin Enakhena as the new NALCOMA President. As well as the election of Chief Boniface Alozie Uche of Abia Comet FC as one of the representatives of the Club Owners in the Board of the Nigeria National League.
The NNL Annual General Meeting passed a vote of explicit confidence on the Board of the Nigeria National League led by George Aluo for successfully repositioning the League and bringing serenity to the League’s operations.
The AGM however, in no small measure appreciated the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) under Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau for providing excellent leadership and unfettered ground for NNL to thrive.
