Some bandits have reportedly killed three persons at the dreaded Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
A local hunter, simply identified as Bashir Unguwar Shekarau and two commercial drivers, Mustapha Adamu and Malam Muktar, were named as those killed by the bandits.
It was gathered that the hunter was shot on Wednesday while the bandits opened fire on the two commercial drivers on their way to Birnin Gwari around 3:00pm on Saturday.
A source who’s a resident and did not want his in print, told one of our Correspondents that another commercial drivers was hit on the eyes by the bandits and was taken to the Birnin-Gwari General Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.
“Hunters were attacked on Wednesday. One of them was killed by the bandits. And by Saturday two commercial drivers retuning to Birnin-Gwari were also shot and killed. Another driver was also was hit by the bandits’ bullets. In all, three people were killed between Wednesday and Saturday,” he said.
He added that three other person’s shot by the bandits were receiving treatment at the general hospital.
There was no official confirmation from either the state government or the police.
The state Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan when contacted, told our correspondent that he was attending a programme.
“I am in a programme please,” the police spokesman said.
