Peaceful Protests: We can’t put a table of food on our family’s table, Bauchi Labour cry out

The Organised Labour in Bauchi State have joint the Nationwide peaceful protest over the removal of fuel subsidy by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu saying “We can’t put a table of food on our families”.
Accordingly, the Organised Labour include the immediate reversal of recent increase of fuel pump price as well as release of eight months salary of universities lectures among others.
Speaking to newsmen the Chairman Nigeria Labour Congress Bauchi State Council Comrade Dauda Shuaibu call on the federal government for quick implementation of the agreement signed with Trade Union Congress TUC.
They accused the president for implementing anti people policy which brought untold hardship to the people in the country.
According to him failure of government to meet their demands the labour would have no other option than industrial action.
“The life of our citizens has been put in darkness, total jupidise unthinkable hardship and economic destabilisation especially the working class who has fixed income”,.
Also speaking the state chairman Trade Union Congress (TUC) Comrade Sabiu Barau said the union would continue with the struggle until their demands are made. He called on government to act fast before it became too late.
Responding the demands on behalf of Governor Bala Muhammad the state head of service Yahuza Adamu said government is aware with the difficult situations people found themselves as a result of removal of fuel subsidy.
Adamu promised to forward their letter to Governor Bala Muhammad for onward submission to President.
He explained that the state government would soon start distribution of palliatives to people as part effort to cushion the hardship being faced as result of removal of fuel subsidy.
Our correspondent report that the members of organised labour
commenced the procession from Nigeria Labour Congress NLC house along Railway Road to Bauchi Emirs palace and terminated at state Secretariat. And carrying placards with different inscriptions “Enough is Enough repair our refinaries before removal of subsidy”,.
