From Mba Nnenna- Abakaliki.
Ebonyj state governor David Nweze Umahi felicitates with the workforce in the state for their contributions and sacrifice to the state’s development.
Umahi disclosed this in his address to Ebonyi state workers, at Pa Ngele Oruta stadium, Abakaliki, on the occasion of Workers’ Day Celebration.
Umahi, who was represented by his Deputy, Barr. Eric Kelechi Igwe said, “We have every reason to commend you highly for your numerous sacrifices which has paid off in our collective accomplishments as a government and as a people.”
The governor stated that his administration has created over 65,000 direct and indirect jobs in the state, adding he has done his best for workers.
“In our covenant with God for good governance in Ebonyi state, we believe that we have done our best for workers.
“Today we are not owing our workers’ salaries. It is good to note that no pension is owed in all our Local Government Areas”, he said.
Governor Umahi noted that few weeks from now, he will hand over to his successor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru. The governor assured that Nwifuru will continue from where he’ll stop, and equally urged those he offended to forgive him, saying it was never intentional.
