Apparently, Jigawa is a state which besieged with a number of monumental problems, the number of children out-of-school in our street, lack of infrastructural facilities that will stablize and resuscitate the economy, inadequate medical personnel and facilities in our health sector, agricultural set—back, and mediocre in the system of education amongst other sticky—wicket bedeviling Jigawa state.

Withal, instead of focusing on the major delicate problems bedeviling the state, we have delve ourselves into an unnecessary confabulation that won’t yield good result or to proper solution on the perplexing and trying situation we are experiencing in quotidian rather stocks the flame of hate chaos.

We’ve enormous problem that have overwhelmed the nooks and cranny of Jigawa state, but, instead of engaging ourselves to a debatable topics; on the issues which have a concomitant effect to the growth and development of the state, and arouse the attention of the people in the helm of power, to enable them to proper solution on the predicaments, for the progress to see the light of the day in the state, we are busy and shamelessly focusing on confabulation that would created disunity and hatred amongst ourselves. The earlier we have gave an attention to our problems, the batter.

Emiratism in Jigawa state, has became a bull in a chinas’ shop, there would be no project from either Federal or state government siting in Jigawa that wasn’t endure and became a subject to challenge base on Emirates biases, the recent was the Federal University of Technology, which federal government unexpectedly positioned the institution in the state, our daily commentators and columnist have written a tediously long epistles regarding the place to site the institution, the gibberish which they have spewed was tainted with hate and aversive words that would created an intense animosity amongst our natives; the Jigawans.

The time is fast, 2023 is nigh and the election is approaching, the politics of Jigawa state are getting hotter and our sentiment of emiratism is getting high. The recent utterence made by the distinguish personality; Muhammad Babandede, former comptroller general of the Nigerian Immigration in which he has disclosed his stance on wether he’s vying for governorship position in Jigawa which turns to be false, and go further to have wrote in the platform of disunity and bias, that he won’t left any stone unturned to provide a role that’ll ensure that his Emirate has secured the governorship position in Jigawa state in any case.

Muhammad Babandede is the man of integrity whose caliber outweigh the goofed he has perpetrated in polity, he’s an epitome of good character that can be compared to none. His recent gesture of securing thousand of the employment slot in NIS to Hadejia citizens and many youth in Ringim local government have earned him a respect from many people including myself.

The Political Gerrymandering in Jigawa State

We didn’t see it coming, that, the phobia of emiratism could brought us to the level were politicians can libertine and flip our sense in order to derive political advantages or get return to political power, but, hither, we are in the midst of such devilish.

How it’s Started?

Jigawa as a state was blessed with five substantial Emirates, each of these Emirates think its mightier and superior than the other(s), the ego and thirst of each of these Emirates to crowned the number one chair; the governorship position in the state, can’t be overemphasized. This is what gaves the tendency for the politicians to have adopted the evil system of political gerrymandering to manipulate people and place their selfish interest above the interest of a common citizens.

This evil system is an hydra headed octapus with suckling filament, sucking the blood of the state, and if care isn’t taken, it will consume the state entirely. We supposed to sing the different tune in the year 2023 to choose the leadership that know nothing rather the united Jigawa; non—sentimental state.

It has been said that ‘The stitches in time, save nine’— let’s collaborate to build Jigawa were each citizen can address himself as Jigawan — not the Emirate he come from; Dutse, Gumel, Hadejia, Kazaure and Ringim are all Jigawa we know and cherish.

Thank you.
