Ugwuanyi presents N186.64bn 2022 budget to ENHA

Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state has presented the 2022 budget estimate tagged; “Sustained Growth and consolidation” estimated at N186, 635, 135, 770) to the Enugu State House of Assembly

This is 9.9% higher than the 2021 Budget

The recurrent expenditure according to the budget will take N71.447bn which represents 38.00 percent while the capital budget gets a N115.158bn which represents 62 percent Of the 2022 budget.

2022 Budget, the governor said is part of their 8-point agenda stressing that the 2021 budget achieved most of its set out agenda despite the economic hardship occassioned by the covid19.

Landmark projects in the 2022 budget include the completion of all ongoing projects viz-a-viz Construction of Flyover at T-junction by Nike lake Resort centre, Nike Road, Abakpa Nike, purchase of 10 tractors, provision of agricultural inputs, establishment and reconstruction of abattoirs, purchase of waste disposal compactor trucks and dump sites.

While thanking the House for their robust support, the governor thanked them for the speedy passage of the 2021 budget and urged them to continue supporting his administration like they have always done.

The speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Edward Ubosi assured the Governor that the budget will be passed in a record time and called on MDAs to get ready for their budget defence from next week.

The Speaker thanked the Governor for his continued support, assuring him that they won’t take it for granted and they will work hard to ensure that the budget is ready by the beginning of January 2022.
