Unknown gunmen on Monday evening kidnapped the mother of Gov. Yahaya Bello’s Chief of Staff, Abdulkarim Jamiu Asuku.

It was gathered that the incident happened at her residence in Nagazi community, under Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State.

A resident of Inese/Ovakere new layout in Nagazi community, where Mrs Seriya Raji resided, told our correspondent that the gunmen stormed her residence at about 7:40 p.m shortly after she observed evening (Ishai) prayer in her mosque within the house.

The abductors, according to the source, were six in number, dressed in black suits with masks and holding a ‘Ghana Must Go’ bag suspected to have contained guns and other dangerous weapons.

He said they entered her house through the mosque and whisked her away using their car.

As at the time of filing this report, the abductors were yet to contact the victim’s family members.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Kogi State, DSP William Ovye Aya, could not be reached to confirm the incident as he failed to pick calls or respond to text messages sent to his phone.
