Our attention has been drawn to an online diatribe credited to the Director-General of the Sen. Andy Uba Campaign, Sir Paul Chukwuma who purports to be advising the wife of Governor of Anambra State, Her Excellency, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano (Osodieme) on “how to be a mother” over an issue that does not in any way concern her except that she is the wife of the Governor of Anambra state, and a soft target for Mr. Chukwuma. Chukwuma felt sufficiently emboldened to drag her into violent conversation to justify the fact that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra and their tainted candidate can also be heard even if on a matter he has neither information nor the competence to speak on. And what is more, he has resorted to muckraking and spurious allegations against decent persons and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in order to be counted as having an opinion on an issue.
Loading ...Speaking on the matter, the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Anambra, Mr. Emeka Ozumba called on the APC Chieftains to get serious and stop playing to the galary in the name of politics. Without doubt, the motherly role of Mrs. Obiano is well-known to ndi Anambra and they do not need attention seekers to remind them that Osodieme is a philanthropist and mother par excellence.
Why did the Chieftains of APC gather to discuss and smear the Governor’s wife and innocent personalities rather than marshalling out their plans for Anambra? Ozumba queried
Ozumba further wondered why in the same breadth, the Chairman of the APC in Anambra state, Chief Basil Ejidike alleged “that the killing of the Igwe of Mkpunando,
Alex Edozieuno who recently defected to the APC was politically motivated and it was as a result of the threats the members of the APC has been receiving in the state.” How patronizing of the APC? That the party presiding over the most violent era in Nigeria’s history is acusing APGA which manages the most peaceful state in Nigeria with a record of little or no violent crimes until the recent intrusion of APC’s coalition of renegades who came threatening conquest by fire by force.
Someone should please remind the APC Chieftains fanning the embers of violence that Anambra and indeed APGA are all about peaceful engagement on issues with the electorate rather than the attention- seeking APC goons who have nothing to offer ndi Anambra except frivolities.
The APC attempt to exploit the long settled matter of infraction, suspension and pardon of some traditional rulers over a year ago for political reasons is laughable since it is clear that the Government of Anambra State had no hand in the fate of the late former royal father. It is also public knowledge that His Excellency, Governor Willie Obiano unequivocally condemned the violent death of the victim since he also believes “that the loss of any life diminishes us.” And Obiano, he maintained had called on security agencies to wade in and resolve the mystery. He counselled the APC chieftain to make himself available to the authorities to provide information on the matter rather than the childish play to the gallery.
