PDP leaders hold closed-door meeting with Ugwuanyi over serial defection

Following the report that some South-East Governors were planning to dump the Peoples Democratic Party for the ruling All Progressives Congress, the PDP Board of Trustees members on Wednesday met Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State.

The BoT members led by the Chairman, Senator Walid Jubrin, meet the Ugwuanyi at the Government House, Enugu, in a closed-door meeting that lasted for about four hours.

The meeting was attended by a former President of the Senate, Sen. Adolphus Wabara; a former governor of old Enugu State, Dr Okwesilieze Nwodo; Sen. Stella Omu; Chief Rex Onyeabo; Garba Shehu; Mrs Laurentia Mallam and Amb. Justina Eze.

Others are Amb Fidelia Njeze; Hajia Hassana Dikko; Sen. Ngiji Ngele and Prof. Adewale Oladipo.

Wabara, who late spoke on behalf of the BOT chairman, described the deliberation as “very successful,”

He said, “We discussed national issues and the way forward for the peace and unity of the country.”

Jubrin described Ugwuanyi as a “frank, sincere and simple man,” and commended him for promoting peace, national integration and unity in Enugu State.
