The new Commissioner of Police (CP) of the Bauchi State Command, Mr Sylvester Alabi, on Monday resumed duty.
The spokesperson of the command, SP Ahmed Wakil, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Bauchi.
According to Wakil, the newly posted CP is the 42nd commissioner of police in the command.
“CP Abiodun Sylvester Alabi is taking over from CP Lawan Tanko Jimeta, who was redeployed to Kano as acting Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Police Academy (POLAC) Wudil, Kano, Kano State,” he said.
He said before his new post, Alabi last served as the CP, Central Criminal Registry (CCR), Force CID Annex, Alagbon, Lagos.
According to the spokesperson, Alabi is a graduate of Sociology from the University of Lagos; a member of Nigeria Institute of Management and Fellow of the National Defence College (FDC), Abuja.
Wakil said the new CP hails from Ekiti State and was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1990.
“He has since served in various capacities in the Nigeria Police Force within and outside Nigeria,” he said.
