A Magistrate Court in Kano on Wednesday suspended Luxurious buses operation within Kano metropolis and environs pending the hearing of the motion on notice.
Kano State Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) had dragged 15 Transporters to court seeking orders restraining the defendants or their agents from operating commercial buses activities around Sabon Gari or anywhere in Kano.
KAROTA further asked the court to ordered the Commissioner of police in Kano to seal off Luxurious bus motor parks at Sabon Gari, and any other terminal of the defendants pending the hearing of the motion on notice.
The defendants include Service Tarzan, Best Way, Landstar Express Ltd, Delta Express, Ltd, Welfare Transport, GUO Motors Ltd, FG Onyewe Motors Ltd, and Godbless Ezenwata Motors Ltd.
Other high profile transporters affected by the court order are Young Shall Grow, Ifeanyi Chukwu Motors Ltd, Sonny Way Motors Ltd, Gobson Motors Ltd, SD Enterprises Ltd, and First Tarzan Motors Ltd.
The presiding Magistrate, Rakiya Lami Sani in her ruling granted the two prayers in the exparte application brought before it by Mutawakkil Isaq Muhammad, Principal State Counsel on behalf of Kano State Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA).
Magistrate Lami Sani further directed the police to seal all bus terminal within and around Kano metropolis.
The court, therefore, adjourned the final hearing till September 14th.
KAROTA had in a meeting with the Luxurious bus owners directed them to relocate from the Sabon Gari Park to Unguwa Uku Motor Park.
