FG Commends Gov. Ganduje’s Untiring Effort In Fertiliser Production, Distribution

Presidential Fertiliser Initiative commends governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state for his untiring effort towards boosting agricultural sector in the country, through mass production and distribution of quality fertiliser to farmers at federal government’s approved guidelines.

This was disclosed by the Chairman of Presidential Fertiliser Initiative, who is the governor of Jigawa state, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, when he paid an inspection tour at the Kano Agricultural Supply Company (KASCO), at Bompai Industrial area, Monday, to see for himself how the fertiliser blending plant operates.

He reveals that, ” We are on a tour to blending plants to see how these facilities are working, particularly in line with the federal government’s effort of providing enough fertiliser to farmers. The Kano plant, KASCO, is doing very well. While also the capacity is good enough to cater for the state, Jigawa state and some parts of Katsina state.”

While appreciating the production capacity of 50 Tonnes per hour, he appreciated that, “KASCO is very reliable, particularly with the exemplary leadership of governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. We thank you for sticking to federal government policy on economic diversification, with particular concentration on agriculture.”

Governor Abubakar assured that the machines were okay and in good shape, promising that, the federal government would provide the plant with Urea to continue with their effective and efficient production.

“Since our contact, as Presidential Fertiliser Initiative, KASCO has been performing wonderfully well. It has never failed us. I am also assuring you that federal government would do everything possible to see that bag of fertiliser stands at the agreed N5,000.

If you come across any marketer selling a bag of fertiliser, with KASCO and federal government brand name, selling the product at more than N5,000 report such a person to us. He will be dealt with,” he warns.

In his remarks governor Ganduje thanked the federal government for her effort in diversifying the economy, particularly how agriculture is getting the needed attention.

He reminded how his administration met KASCO in 2015 and how he facelifted the fertiliser plant, with the appreciable production capacity.

Insisting that, “We met a moribund plant that was out of operation for over 15 years. But we revived the place. And more importantly, the plant is the biggest government owned fertiliser plant in the country. With appreciable capacity.”
