Misau Integrated Union and Civil Society Organization (MIUSO) has blamed the Presidency over the recent false reports in some national dailies that president Muhammadu has approved the establishment and location of Federal College of Education in Jama’are local Government Area of Bauchi state.
This was made known to newsmen yesterday by the Chairman of the group, Barrister Muhammad Hamma Misau saying if the President had signed the approval of the Senate on time that allocated the institution to Misau, the unfortunate misinformation of the public wouldn’t have araised.
According to him, “The needless delay in signing the approval of the Senate by President Muhammadu Buhari with regards to the establishment and allocation of the Federal College of Education in Misau and others is what must have given birth to this fake reports by some selfish persons”, Barr. Misau opined.
The Group Chariman , said if such unpatriotic actions are not checked, it is capable of causing problem in the education sector.
The group which said it does not want to lose confidence in the President Buhari’s led Federal Government that claimed to stand by the rule of law in all its dealings, wondered why it has taken longer time without passing a bill that was initiated and sponsored by senator Isah Hamma Misau which was approved by the Senate in 2018.
He explained that, “We want to call on President Muhammadu Buhari to initiate an investigation into this matter with a view to finding the architects of the purported fake letter and punish them accordingly, to serve as deterrent to others”, the group demanded.
“We equally urge Mr. President to expedite action on the decision of the Senate which has allocated the Federal institution to Misau to avoid unnecessarily heating the polity”, Barr. Misau said.
He said that the minister of education, Mal. Adamu Adamu has been known for his transparency and stand for truth who would not take what belongs to Misau and give it to others.
The group which expressed delight that the report has been faulted, vowed to seek redress in court, should President Muhammadu Buhari further delay or allocate the institution to a different place other than Misau municipal.
Tribune online had reported the federal government refuting reports in some national dailies that it has approved and allocated six (6) new Colleges of Education across the six geopolitical zones of the country.
It said the Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education, Mr Ben Bem Goong,
described the letters purportedly emanating from the Federal Ministry of Education and circulating in the social media as fake.
Also speaking, Alhaji Mohammed Kaka Misau who is also the Convener for the actualization of FCE Misau called on President Muhammadu to put to usage, his promise to adhere to the rule of law.
“When the President took over in 2015, he said that “I Belong To Everybody And I Belong To Nobody”. In this case, he ought to have ordered for the quick take-off of the institution”, he said.
