To reduce hardship among the people of Bauchi State, following the outbreak of COVID-19 and its resultant consequences on the overall economy Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has appointed the Emir of Bauchi as Chairman Committee on Palliative.
This was contained in a press released signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Go Ernie Bala Mohammed on Media and Communication Comrade Muktar Gidado and copy made available to newsmen in Bauchi Sunday evwning.
Gidado said, other members of the Committee are Alhahi Hamza Koshe Akuyam , State Chairman, PDP Hon. Muktar A. Suleiman (BAHA) , Ambassador Adamu Aliyu ( Walin Katagum), Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi
Senator Bala Kariya, Senator Adamu Ibrahim Gumba, Chief of Staff, Government House (COS) Alhaji Sule Doguwa, Alhaji Garba Mohammed Noma, Dr. Maikanti Baru ,Engr. Zubairu Yakubu, Alhaji Sani Shehu, Alhaji Y. M. Shafa,
Alhaji Abdullahi Caps,, Hon. Comm. Min. of Religious Affairs & Social Welfare, Hon. Comm. Youth and Sports, Hon. Comm. Min. of Agric. & Rural Development, Hon. Comm. Min. for Local Govt. Affairs, Hon. Comm. Ministry of Women Affairs – Amina Mohammed Katagum , SA/SIP and Zainab A. D. Rufa’i , SA/Domestic NGOs/Comm. Development.

He said the terms of reference of the Committee shall be to source for assistance in kind and in cash from well-meaning members of the Public, Corporate Organizations, Government Agencies and International Donors;
To distribute all sourced palliative materials and money to the needy citizens of the State as fairly and equitably as possible and to discharge any responsibility as may be referred to it by His Excellency, the Executive Governor, from time to time.
Other term of reference are to submit periodic progress report to the Secretary to the State Government on a weekly basis, while final report after the State is declared free COVID-19 and he Committee will be inaugurated by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, CON , on Monday 27 th April, 2020 by 12:00 noon at the Command Guest House, Bauchi.
It is hoped that the members of the Committee will bring their wealth of knowledge and experience in the discharge of the ir assignment .
