Sir, I wish to draw your attention to the article I wrote three years ago where I advised Kogi State government to float her own construction company to undertake all road construction in Kogi state as issuing out contract for same purpose is a clear waste of resources.
The State-own company when established should be used for the construction of all roads in the State. It can as well be used to bid for construction contract work from the federal government and other States of the federation. To make this happen, you need to procure road construction equipment and machine for the State. When properly implemented, jobs will be created for our teaming unemployed and idle youths in the society as many will be engaged in the company.
Sir, you will also need to procure machines to break rock into smaller pieces used for road construction and house building. We have abundant of rock in Kogi central which can be utilized for this purposes. Doing this also, more jobs will be created for graduate and low level certificate holders.
The implementation of the idea will boost and enhance the internal generated revenue of the State. It will also change the negative perception of people on Governor Bello performance’s in Kogi State. You will write the name of Kogi state in gold in the anal history of the nation. Kogi state will become a role model for other States to copy in making things happen for their people too.
The State will generate more revenue from the income on contract work by constructing federal and other State roads. The State will also make money from the sale of broken rock pieces bought by the individuals and corporate organisation for the construction of building and all major roads in the country.
This measure will help the State to save more money and fund will be readily available for other productive ventures like regular and full salary payment to workers across the State.
You will create visible jobs that are glaring to the eye of everyone on the street and not those created on newspaper pages in the time past.
I wish you the best on this innovative idea.
