The traveling FC ifeanyi Ubah team have been attacked by suspected unknown gunmen around Okene in Kogi state.
The team made up of players and officials were on their way to honour Matchday six clash of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) with Jigawa Golden Stars in Dutse.
The hoodlums reportedly fired gun shots on the team bus about a hundred meters from an army check point.
According the team’s captain, the team’s driver was targeted by the shot who lost control of the vehicle.
He said one of the players was hit by the stray bullet but other players were unhurt.
Injured players and officials have already been moved to a nearby hospital.
