Impressed by governor of Kano state, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s unrivalled achievements in the areas of agriculture and health care delivery system, the famous Business Day newspaper, after diligent assessment of all the 36 governors, selects Ganduje with the Award of “Best Governor in Agricultural and Healthcare Development, 2019.”
In a line of activities, tagged “The 2019 States Competitiveness and Good Governance Awards” slated for Thursday 24th October, 2019, at Transcorp Hotels, the governor would be crown with the two prestigious Awards.
This was revealed in a letter sent to the governor, dated October 7th, 2019 and signed by Mr Frank Aigbogun, the Publisher and Chief Executive Officer of the company.
It states that, ” The 2019 State Competitiveness & Good Governance Awards Committee would like to inform Your Excellency that you have emerged as the Best Governor in Agricultural and Healthcare Development.
Consequently, the Award Committee would like to use this unique opportunity to congratulate Your Excellency for this laudable feat.”
The newspaper challenges that, the Award Committee was made up of eminent Nigerians who reviewed the “…pragmatic and noticeable transformations and diversification across all the segments of your state’s socio-economic activities in education,
physical infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, poverty alleviation and rural-urban development since you became the governor.”
According to them the feats achieved were seen as manifestation of good institutional transformations, friendly business environment, expanding opportunities and a shift towards economic diversification, as being initiated and enunciated by governor Ganduje.
Their plan was “…to make the laudable achievements known to the entire world, which prompted BusinessDay to outlined a number of ways to celebrate your achievements in winning these Awards.”
Explaining that, “Among the unique ways to celebrate these unique achievements, we will use our local and international platforms such as our daily and weekend publications, digital platforms and Web TV to publicise the achievements of your administration to the world.”
