The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors’ Forum rates Kano State Governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as the best performing governor in their Progressive Strides Report.
This was contained in a letter sent to the governor, dated 7th October, 2019 and signed by the Director General of the Forum, Salihu Mohammad Lukman. Which was captioned “Progressive Strides – Tracking Developmental Initiatives in APC States.”
According to the letter, the entries that led to emergence of the report, witnessed another improvement concerning developmental strides “…collated from the Forum States in 2019. The information collated was readily available on public platforms and same reported to the Secretariat.”
While acknowledging that there was an all-round increase in the pattern of initiatives introduced by the APC states, the letter was categorical that, “…with Kano state recording the most initiatives for this month with Eighteen (18) strides.”
The strides, the letter explains, spread across empowerment, health care, education, security, transportation, welfare, power, agriculture, justice and sensitization.
Yobe state follows Kano with 14 strides, Borno state with 13 strides, followed by Edo, Gombe, Kaduna, Lagos and Ogun states with 12 strides each.
While Ekiti state gets 11 strides, Nassarawa state has 9 strides and Katsina and Kebbi states with 7 strides each. Kwara and Osun states with 6 strides each. Niger state follows with 5, Ondo state with 4 strides. And finally Kogi and Plateau states go with 3 strides each.
