Elder Sunny Nwosu’s passion and commitment in piloting the affairs of All Ngwa Cultural Organization know no bounds since he assumed the headship of the organization as  the President-General of the foremost sociocultural body of the Ngwa ethnic nationality for almost a decade now.

Nwosu assumed the leadership of the organization when death cut short the leadership of Col.Emeka Ezindu(retd.) close to a decade now. Since then the narrative of the body has changed and there has been a turnaround in its fortunes.

Under Eld. Nwosu’s watch, the numerous property, especially the landed property have been adequately protected from encroachment and possible appropriation by external forces through fencing. One landmark achievement in this area is warding off possible encroachment of the Prison Service.

Outside this, the body under Eld. Nwosu’s watch has erected an edifice known as  the ” Ngwa Cultural Hall”, located at its headquarters at 1 Factory Road, Aba.

Also, harmony and synergy among major stakeholders of the body- affiliate unions, government and traditional rulers- which almost took flight in the previous times have been fully restored through the instrumentality of Eld. Nwosu’s leadership.

Now the affiliate unions have their meeting halls and the image of the Ngwa ethnic nationality is not only promoted but boosted.

Eld. Nwosu could not have achieved this outside his rich background. His birth to two notable clerics, late Rev. Apostle I. A Nwosu and Rev Mrs. Cecilia Nwosu of Ayaba Okpuala in Ngwa Ukwu Autonomous Community, Isiala Ngwa LGA of Abia State, gave him a strong footing in life.

Eld. Nwosu’s background in accountancy, where he has a BSc and other certificates, is complimented by theology with a diploma from Emmaus Bible Centre, Africa.

His work experience and awards is almost inexhaustible. He is managing director, Fenco Nigeria Integrated Services, Chairman; Icablesmic Nigeria; Pioneer Secretary of National Youth Service Corps, NYSC,Abia Chapter; former Chairman, Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC; lecturer, Niger Delta Polytechnic, Aba Study Centre; lecturer, Niger Delta Innovation Enterprise Institute, Aba.

Eld. Nwosu is a financial consultant to government agencies, Ambassador of Peace from Peace International. He was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Pilgrims University Theological Seminary in April 2017.

ANCO’s emergence dates back to 1972 when the Ngwa people realised culture as a uniting force, a mark of identity, and an indispensable element in the light of a people.

The aims to the body are to foster unity and patriotism among Ngwa people; promote the cultural heritage of Ngwa people; stimulate sociocultural and political awareness among Ngwa people with a view to establishing the identity of Ngwa land; provide a forum for exchanging ideas, mutual understanding and cooperation among Ngwa people and their neighbours; to educate, organise, sensitise and influence public opinion in matters affecting the interest of Ngwa people and pursue the actualisation of such interest.

Others are to present the interests and aspirations of the body to government or any other appropriate body; to ensure appropriate representation of Ngwa people into local, state, national government irrespective of party affiliations; to provide facilities for interaction and recreation; to encourage the establishment of progressive clubs, unions, associations and organise groups at home and abroad.

Eld. Nwosu’s passion and commitment in driving the aspirations ANCO has paid off, and he deserves another turn as” one good turn deserves another. That is why majority of the organisation’s members are jostling for his continuity as the President-General when elections of the body hit ground few months from now.
