Anambra state pastor, Mr Nwabueze Anaka, on Tuesday, allegedly stabbed own mother to death at Umunakwa village, Oraifite, Ekwusigo LGA.
Anaga, aged 30, who is said to be a pastor of a Pentecostal church, reportedly escaped to an unknown place after killing his 50-year-old mother with a dagger.
Confirming the report, the Anambra state police command through the Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Muhammed, said circumstances surrounding the incident was yet to be ascertained but the complainants alleged that the suspect is having some mental challenges.
“There was a report at Oraifite Division today 27/8/2019 at about 12:00pm that same date at about 6:am,one Mr Nwabueze Anaka, aged about 30 of umunakwa Oraifite allegedly stabbed his mother, one Grace Anaka aged about 50 years with a dagger and took to flight.
“Police detectives attached to the Division visited the scene, photographed and took the victim to the hospital where she was certified dead by the medical doctor after which corpse was deposited at the rest land morgue, Oraifite.
“The case is under investigation and effort is being intensified to apprehend the fleeing suspect in order to bring him to justice,” he said.
