An Abuja based NGO, The Other Alternative, has challenged former Bauchi state governor, Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu and the formerly sacked chairman of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (Tetfund), Dr. Musa Babayo to seek redress in any Court of their choice related to the NGO’s call on Mr. President to reject them for any appointment in his government.
In a press release made available to this medium, leader of the group, Ladan Abdullahi said hiring of pedestrian writers, sycophants and busy bodies and the engagement of street lobbyists by the duo to launder their already battered images and comparing their plight with that of Abba Kyari as a way out of the quagmire will not change the narrative.
“The Other Alternative based its argument on the list of registered companies obtained from the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and photographs of some of those building contracts during execution awarded by tetfund under the tenure of Musa Babayo as chairman. Some of those contracts were poorly executed, but certified as completed and paid while some awarded to one of his in-laws in Bauchi was not even completed but certified as completed and paid through his influence.
“For instance, some of the contracts executed by those companies in Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic (ATAP) Bauchi, suspected to be owned by Talba were demolished within two years after completion for becoming death traps for their poor quality of work while others executed by same companies in tertiary institutions in Gombe, Adamawa etc suffered same fate and yet he is adorned by others.
“Let Babayo or any of those his sycophants be bold to debunk our allegations with facts not with sycophantic acts as a wicked strategy to confuse innocent minds particularly that of Mr. President and APC National leadership
“Was Talba’s PDP national chairmanship not rejected by former president Jonathan and other party chieftains in favor of Bamanga Tukur and what was the reason? What is therefore in Talba for envy?”
Ladan added that in 2007, the administration of Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu was thoroughly probed by a Judicial Commission of Enquiry and he was found guilty of embezzling public funds and other criminal acts. He was banned from holding public office for 10 years before he flew back from exile after the death of President Umaru Musa Yar Adu’a to seek reconciliation with Yuguda for safety
“The lawyer, though of blessed memory that handled Mu’azu’s case at Bauchi High Court gave us a full briefing on what actually transpired between Yuguda and his client (Mu’azu). A Judge was then selected for the dirty job and that was how Mu’azu was said to be free. We intend to file a fresh case against Mu’azu or we go on appeal for continuation of that case to the end.
“Did Mu’azu as governor auctioned government property situated at Bauchi and Azare GRAs without legislation to friends and associates at give away prices to satisfy his lust for property acquisition or not?
“What is therefore the leadership quality there in Talba or Mu’azu worth to be envied and for what?
“As our president in a democracy and as a right without fear of any insinuation from spent horses, we are repeating our call to President Muhammadu Buhari to zoom his searchlight on the antecedents of those we mentioned for him to arrive the coast safely. We are not campaigning for any particular person for the ministerial slot of Bauchi state since there are several credible persons of sound character that deserve to be engaged”
