Emir of Karaye promises to enhance security, economic development in his emirate

The Emir of Karaye, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar 11 has said his reign will ensure development in agriculture, security, economy and self-reliance among youths in his emirate.

 

He charged the youths on the need to embrace self-reliant and avoid over dependent on white-collar jobs.

 

Emir Abubakar 11 who is among the four new Emirs elevated to first class status by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje said his emirate has started seeking ways towards enhancing abundant natural resources in his dormain, particularly in the area of agriculture.

 

The Royal Father spoke while receiving members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, (NYCN) and National Association of Kano State Students (NAKSS) who paid him solidarity visit at his Palace in Karaye on  Saturday.

 

He said his reign will ensure security of lives and property, agricultural revolution, education for the youths, self-reliance, self-sufficiency, as well as socio-economic development within the emirate.

 

According to him, the Karaye and other three emirates recently upgraded by Governor Ganduje have been in existence for over 100 years.

 

He commended Ganduje for summoning the courage to have done the needful.

 

Emir Abubakar 11 also stated that the creation of the new emirates was done in the best interest of the people and to ensure even socio-economic development in Kano state.

 

The youths who stormed the Karaye Emirate in  their hundreds displayed placards with various inscriptions describing Governor Ganduje as a leader with foresight and the interest of the people at heart.

 

In his address during the visit, NAKSS chairman, Comrade Aliyu Hydar Maikasuwa noted that the creation of the new emirates will attract development in all the nooks and crannies of Kano state.

 

He commended  Ganduje for coming up with such initiative and hoped that soonest the the new emirates would be upgraded to the status of states.

 

“All we need in Kano is development. We can only pray that someday, these new emirates will be transformed into  states, thereby attracting more development, creating more socio-political cum economic opportunities for our people.” 

 

He added that, “we have come to the palace to show our solidarity with His Highness, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar 11. We align ourselves with Governor Ganduje’s action and we make bold to say that his decision deserve commendation.

“Kano state is the most populous state in the country and we see nothing wrong in the creation of the new emirates. We are also aware of the fact that these emirates have been in existence years back and Governor Ganduje’s decision to upgrade the emirates and appoint first class Emirs to man them is what every leader with foresight will do.

 

“We also wish to use this opportunity to urge those who are opposed to the creation of these new emirates to think twice and lend their support to this noble cause that is designed to develop Kano, ensure peace, security and unity across the state.”

 

Also speaking, NYCN Kano chapter chairman, Comrade Kabiru Ado Lakwaya said the group was delighted over Governor Ganduje’s decision to carve out new emirates, adding that it is in line with the Gandujiyya administration agenda for ensuring unity and development in Kano state. 

 

“Just yesterday (Friday), we at the Bichi Emirate and what we saw there is commendable.Already development has fully commenced in Bichi. We noticed the same thing as we are coming into the Karaye Emirate. So, we are happy to identity with the new Emirs and we are sure that going by their pedigree, the will not disappoint the people.”

 

According to him,  the creation of new Emirates in Kano will  enhance the livelihood and welfare of the good people of Kano State.

 

He added that they were in full support of the decision taken by Ganduje, especially with regards to the calibre of personalities he appointed as Emirs of the new Emirates.
